Guwahati News Desk: Indian Boxer Lovlina Borgohain who claimed a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 to receive a grand welcome on August 12 at Guwahati as the government of Assam will welcome Lovlina in ‘Red Carpet’.
A huge branding gate has been installed in multiple places in Guwahati as Lovlina is about to reach her home with Olympic bronze.
Earlier, boxer Lovlina Borgohain reached New Delhi on Tuesday and was felicitated by the Government of India along with the other Olympic medallist winners at the Tokyo Olympics.
A felicitation programme will be organized for Lovlina at Sankardeva Kalashetra where she would be accompanied by a huge rally by the State government.
Meanwhile, Lovlina Borgohain to return to her hometown in Borpothar on August 17 after attending a special programme on Independence Day at the national capital on August 15.
The government of Assam will recommend her name for Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. The State government will offer a rank of APS or ACS for making the State proud at the Tokyo Olympics and also awarded her with Rs 50 lakh.
