Guwahati News Desk: One person died in an accident after a scooter got hit by a sand-carrying truck at Silpukhuri in Guwahati on Friday night.
The accident took place at 11.30 pm as the scooter rider got hit by a sand truck while returning home at Silpukhuri police point. The deceased have been identified as Ranjan Baishya who hails from Tamulpur and was staying in Guwahati city for work purposes.
Soon after the incident, the victim was immediately rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) but he was declared dead.
On the same day, another accident was reported in Baihata where five-person were killed after a passenger tempo collided head to head with an ambulance killing two on spot and three others was rushed to GMCH but later declared dead.
