Guwahati News Desk: It is the 9th death anniversary of ‘Sangeet Surya’ Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.
He passed away on 5th Nov, 2011 following multiple organ failure in Mumbai hospital.
Dr Hazarika is remembered across Assam on Thursday.
Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal visited the memorial site, Dr Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra in Jalukbari to pay his tribute.
The Ministry of Culture paid tribute and tweeted, “Remembering the legendary music maestro, the bard of Brahmaputra, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on his death anniversary, whose immortal creations will continue to reverberate in our hearts forever. #BhupenHazarika.”
MyGov Assam also paid tribute to the maestro via Twitter.
