Guwahati News Desk: At least 18 bodies found and 20 others remained missing after a bus fell off a bridge into a canal in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday morning.
The tragic incident took place near Patna village around 80 km away from the Sidhi district headquarter, around 8:30 AM.
Umesh Joga, Inspector General (Rewa zone) said on the incident, “Eighteen bodies have been fished out of the Bansagar canal until now. At least 20 other passengers are feared missing, and a search and rescue operation is underway.”
Joga further added at least seven persons swam to safety after the bus landed in the canal.
According to sources said around 50 passengers were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident.
