Guwahati News Desk: After going to a cyber cafe to get some documents photocopied, two girls were allegedly held hostage and were gang-raped.

The horrific incident took place in a cyber cafe in Uttar Pradesh.

As per the sources, two girl students were taken as hostages and were raped by four men at the cafe on September 13, and one among the accused had also recorded the act.

Further threatening to circulate the video, the accused also extorted Rs. 10,000 from the girls.

However, the Superintendent of Police, Prashant Verma, informed that a case was registered at Sadar Kotwali on Sunday against six people, including a woman, based on the complaint of one of the girls.

The 17-year-old student in her complaint stated that she had gone to the cyber cafe along with her friend at noon on September 13, when four people, who were already present there, raped them.

She added that, one of the accused also made a video of the act and handed it over to his brother-in-law who extorted Rs. 10,000 by threatening to make it viral.

The girl further stated that she and her friend stole money from their houses to give it to the accused, and it was the missing money which alerted their family members after which the incident finally came to light.

Moreover, as informed by SP Verma, the police are raiding all possible places. He also added that during the initial investigation, the police have found signs of prostitution from the cafe.

Furthermore, Verma informed that after the incident, the wife of one of the accused contacted the victim via the phone, pressurizing her into prostitution and that some neighbors have also spoken about presence of young girls there.

Meanwhile, the two girls have been sent to the district hospital for medical examination.
