Guwahati News Desk: Northeast Startup Festival 2022 organised at Royal Global University and the same concluded on 22nd of March. Pankaj Gogoi, Director, Redlemon Technologies pvt. Ltd shared the mission and vision of the Northeast Startup Festival 2022 which is to setup Guwahati as the startup capital of South East Asia. He shared about how the activities of Startup Assam which started in 2015 have shown results in the current startup scenarios of the region and the festival is an initiative to take this ecosystem to the next level.
The inauguration ceremony speech has been started by Dr.Sriparna Bhuyan Baruah, Head, Center for industrial extension, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship .She shared about the challenges and opportunities about the startup ecosystem and how the ecosystem has been growing in Northeast India . She encouraged the students community to emphasise on innovation and development and build great products. Dr. Samir Baruah, Ex GM, Indian Overseas bank and mentor for BRAIN( Brahmaputra region angel investor network) spoke about the banking solutions across the country and how startups and students should work on their unit economics and a banking relationship. He also spoke about a growing startup ecosystem in the region and how Northeast Startup Festival and hackathons have helped in developing the ecosystem. Dr. S P Singh, Vice Chancellor, Royal Global University spoke about the changing scenarios of start-ups in the country and how students should work on innovation and create start-ups. He also spoke about the initiatives undertaken by the University for the entrepreneurs of the region. He also congratulated the Northeast Startup Festival a grand success.

The Northeast Hackathon witnessed student teams from various campuses all across Northeast India. The competition was judged by Dr. Samir Baruah and Mr. Rajeev Saikia, MD, RD Grow green India pvt. Ltd, Mr. Dayal Kalita , Autoleopard. First Prize won by Team Jorhat Engineering College Mr. Joydeep Gogoi, SmartPapa. Second Prize won by team NERIST, Mr.Ha Tade . Third Prize by IIIT Guwahati, Mr. Madhurjya Bora.
Followed by this, the Angel One investor talk started and moderated by Mr. Pranjal Konwar, COO, IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, AssamStartup on the topic : Challenges and Opportunities in Startup Funding” with the eminent speakers Mr. Prabhakar Tiwari , Chief Growth Officer , Angel One , Mumbai , Mr. Anil Joshi , MD, Unicorn Ventures, Mumbai, Mr. Sunit Jain, Founder, Gplus and Mr.Nickson Sharma, investment analyst, NEDFI venture capital limited .
The Women Entreprenuership programme has been moderated by Miss Drishti Medhi, COO, QuickGhy about women entreprenuers from different background trying to work upon their ventures . The speakers were Ms. Karishma Kakoti, Founder, KA Design, Ms.Sharmistha Paliwal, Co-director ,Third Eye Education pvt. Ltd, Ms. Arundhati Bora , CEO & Co founder , Bambusa Creations, Ms. Alaka Patowary , Founder, Jobhut .
