Guwahati News Desk: 3 people have lost their lives after a fire broke out at an Indian Oil depot in West Bengal’s Haldia on Tuesday.
In addition, nearly 44 others have been reported to be injured in the fire.
In a statement released by IOC, it stated that the incident occurred at a unit of the refinery during shutdown related works.
Referring to the cause of the fire, the IOC said, “The primary cause seems to be a flash fire leading to burn injuries to 44 persons and 3 persons have unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.”
In addition, out of the 44 injured, 37 are being referred to a hospital in Kolkata.
Moreover, the fire has now been extinguished and the situation is under control.
