Guwahati News Desk: At least four unidentified militants were killed on Monday in an encounter with security forces in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
During a search operation followed by a tip, security forces barricaded the area in the Manihal area of the district around midnight.
A police official said, “A gunbattle broke out a couple of hours later when militants opened fire on the security forces who retaliated.”
“The security forces asked the militants to surrender but they refused the offer”, the official added.
