Guwahati News Desk: Afghanistan on Monday successfully defeated Scotland by 130 runs in the Super 12 Group 2 match of the ongoing T20 World Cup.
At the initial phase, Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi won the toss and elected to bat first.
In Monday’s match, opener Hazratullah Zazai produced a 44-run knock off 30 balls while Najibullah Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz also played solid knocks.
Chasing a target of 191, Scotland were bowled out for just 60 as, Spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman drove past their top and middle order with his five-wicket haul to puncture their chase.
Rashid Khan also took four wickets, dismissing four batsmen.
In addition, it was Rahman who received the honour of being the player of the match.
Meanwhile, George Munsey’s 25-run knock was the best effort showcases by a Scotland batter in the entire match.

The players of team Scotland included of Kyle Coetzer (c), George Munsey, Calum MacLeod, Richie Berrington, Matthew Cross (wk), Michael Leask, Chris Greaves, Mark Watt, Josh Davey, Safyaan Sharif and Brad Wheal.
Eventually, the final score of the match between Afghanistan and Scotland mounted up to Afghanistan’s being 190/4 (20) and Scotland’s being 60 (10.2).
