Guwahati News Desk: The worldwide popular Ambubachi Mela of Maa Kamakhya Temple has been cancelled for the second time back to back amid COVID-19.
The announcement was made by the head priest of Maa Kamakhya Temple as issued by the Kamrup Metro District Administration (KMDA).
According to the sources, no devotees and pilgrims will be allowed across the State to visit the temple during the festival time except the local residents living in the Nilachal hills.
The authority also requested the police officials not to allow anyone to visit the temple premises.
The rituals of Ambubachi Mela will be done by the priests without any pilgrims and devotees as the mela was scheduled to take place between June 22 to June 30.
