Guwahati News Desk: The IYC (Indian Youth Congress), on Thursday, appointed Angkita Dutta as the new president of the APYC (Assam Pradesh Youth Congress) while Ratul Patowary was appointed as the working president of the organization.
IYC president Srinivas BV said that they have been promoted to the new posts keeping in view their services for the organisation. He expressed confidence that the duo will work hard and devote their full time and energy to further strengthen the Congress party under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
It may be mentioned that 33-year-old Angkita Dutta is the daughter of former APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) president and Congress minister late Anjan Dutta. She had unsuccessfully contested the last Assembly election from the Amguri constituency. Earlier, she had served as a vice president of APYC.
On the other hand, Ratul Patowary was also serving as the vice president of the APYC before he was promoted as the working president on Thursday.
