Guwahati News Desk: Assam Forest & Environment Minister Parimal Suklabaidya visited the spot at Kothiatoli in Nagaon where 18 elephants were found dead.
Minister Suklabaidya ordered officials to start an enquiry.
At least 18 elephants killed in a massive lighting that struck the forest on Wednesday night.
The incident took place at the hills in the Kundoli proposed reverse forest in the Kathiatoli range.
It was also notified by the officials that the exact reason will be known only after post-mortem by Friday.
Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took a stock of the death of the jumbos and expressed deep concern.
CM Sarma directed the Forest and Environment Minister Parimal Suklabaidya to visit the site where the incident took place and put a deep inquire and report to the Chief Ministers with the finding of enquiry report.
