Guwahati News Desk: The Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary has been declared as a National Park by the Forest department on Wednesday.
Earlier, on the World Environment Day Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma declared Raimona Sanctuary as a national park.
After the declaration of Dehing Patkia National Park, Assam has now seven national parks.
The Chief Minister of Assam says the newly declared national parks in the State will be another endeavour to protect the flora and fauna.
The other national parks in Assam are Kazirang National Park & Tiger Reserve (KPNTR), Manas National Park, Nameri, Orang National Park, Dibru-Saikhowa and Raimona National Park.
