Guwahati News Desk: In between the massive lockdown in Guwahati City amid the COVID-19 pandemic a new story has begun in the Assam State Zoo in Zoo Road of Guwahati.
Black panther, lioness, deer give birth to healthy cubs at Assam State Zoo during the COVID-induced restrictions.
The administration of the State zoo is taking all their effort to keep the animals stay safe during the hard days that the world is facing.
Regular sanitization is being done across the zoo to ensure they stay healthy and not come in contact with the deadly virus.
The administration is also providing timely food to the animals as all possible step is taken to provide the animal with a better and safe environment during the pandemic.
Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden of Guwahati to have four zebras soon which would be brought from Israel says Environment and Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya on June 12.
The zebras will be brought to the zoo in exchange for two black panthers following an MoU with Reliance Company.
On the other hand, four white-winged wood ducks (i.e. deo hah) will arrive from the European nation Czech Republic.
The zoo was closed since April 28 this year due to increasing cases of COVID-19 in the State.
The administration has not taken any decision yet on the reopening of the zoo till the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic comes under control.
