At 11 a.m. on the same day, Speaker Biswajit Daimari will administer the oath of office to the five newly elected MLAs who have won the by-elections.
Meanwhile, Rupajyoti Kurmi from Mariani group, Sushant Bargohai from Thaora, Fani Talukdar from Bhawanipur, Jiran Basumtari from Gonsaigaon and Jalen Daimariye from Tamulpur group have just completed their victories.
Significantly, all three of these five newly elected MLAs were elected as MLAs just six months ago. The three MLAs are Rupajyoti Kurmi, Sushant Bargaonhai and Fani Talukdar respectively. However, in the run-up to the by-elections, all three have emerged victorious in the by-elections to join the BJP. Only the seats and identities of these three MLAs will be changed. However, Jalen Daimari and Jiran Basumtari have been elected as MLAs for the first time.
The by-elections were held on October 30 in Mariani, Thaora, Bhawanipur, Gonsaigaon and Tamulpur constituencies.
