AUS clinched T20 World Cup defeating NZ in the finals

Guwahati News Desk: Attaining their victory by a total of eight wickets, Australia defeats New Zealand in the final T20 World Cup Match on Sunday.

The match took place at the Dubai International Stadium.

Winning the toss Australia chose to bowl. In addition, it was skipper Aaron Finch who elected to bowl against New Zealand.

In Sunday’s match, New Zealand set Australia a target of 173 in 20 overs.

Trent Boult dismissed Australia’s captain Aaron Finch in the 3rd over itself.

David Warner and Mitchell Marsh had put Australia on top, smashing the opponent team to all parts of the ground. The duo had gotten together after Finch was dismissed early by Trent Boult.

Soon after, Marsh smashed a 50 off 31 balls, fastest in a T20 WC final, to take Australia to 136/2 in 15 overs. He stitched an unbeaten 67-run stand for the 3 wicket with Glenn Maxwell to take the side home with 1.1 overs to spare.

Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell struck some early boundaries to power New Zealand to 23/0 after 3 overs.

In addition, Kane Williamson took New Zealand to 117/2 after 17 overs, and Tim Seifer and Jimmy Neesham guided New Zealand to 172/4 in 20 overs.

The members of team Australia included of Aaron Finch (c), Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Mitchell Swepson, Matthew Wade (wk), David Warner and Adam Zampa.

The members of team New Zealand included of Kane Williamson (c), Todd Astle, Trent Boult, Mark Chapman, Adam Milne, Martin Guptill, Kyle Jamieson, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Tim Seifert (wk), Ish Sodhi and Tim Southee.

Eventually, the final score of the match between Australia and New Zealand mounted up to Australia’s being 173/2 (18.5) and New Zealand’s being 172/4 (20).

Furthermore, it was Mitchell Marsh who was titled as “Player of the Final” and it was David Warner who received the title of “Player of the Tournament.”
