Guwahati News Desk: Beautification is going on rapidly across the Guwahati City ahead of the visit of President of India Ram Nath Kovind on February 25.
Starting from the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Borjhar to Kalashetra the dividers have been painted up and roads have cleaned up ahead of the visit of the President.
Earlier these days a massive traffic have been witness across the city due to beautification work as half part of the road was blocked for painting including the footpath and Jalukbari train over bridge.
Welcome gate have been seen installed in many parts of the city to warmly welcome the President of India Ram Nath Kovind. President to inaugurate a year-long celebration to mark the 400th anniversary of Lachit Borphukan at Srikanta Sankardev Kalashetra during his three-days visit to Assam.
President Kovind to arrive Guwahati of February 25. The announcement was made by the Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday. The program will be organized by the State Education Department, Cultural Department and Directorate of Information and Public Relation (DIPR).
During his visit the President will also lay stone for the Alaboi War Memorial which to be built at Dadara situated near Guwahati City in Kamrup district. President Kovind will also lay the foundation stone of Lachit Borphukan maidam in Jorhat district which will be reconstructed.
On February 26, President Ram Nath Kovind will visit to Tezpur University to address the convocation program as apart from this the President will take his way towards the Kaziranga National Park on the same day and will take a jeep safari in the World Heritage Site.
