Guwahati-based restaurant Bhotuwa Foods, located in Kay M Plaza, Ground Floor, Ganeshguri, serves North East’s ethnic dishes with flavoursome taste.
Founded by Advocate Chintumani Deka and Dr. Nitumoni Deka in May 2019, the restaurant serves various kinds of dishes, such as veg thali, which includes steamed rice, plain daal, mixed veg, dry veg, one seasonal veg item, aachar (pickle), and chutney; chicken thali; pork thali; and fish thali.
However, the restaurant serves various types of chicken items (chicken with bamboo shoot and Naga king chilly, chicken with til, chicken with herbs, and boil chicken); various types of pork items (pork with bamboo shoot and Naga king chilly, pork with til, pork with herbs such as lai paat, mejenga, tengamora etc., pork dry fry, and boil pork); and various types of fish items (steamed fish, boil fish, fish curry, fish tenga, small steamed fish, and small fish tenga).
The owner Chintumani Deka said:
“Bhotuwa foods in my words can be elucidating as an awaited dream of me and my brother, as we were staying far away from our base, we tried our best to discover new dishes.”
He added:
“Since our childhood we grew up running through our kitchen, looking at our mom and sister cooking authentic Assamese cuisine…it was all awesome traditional Assamese food in our home.”
Both the brothers, as owners and food enthusiasts, provide all the authentic traditional dishes with certain twist.
Deka stated:
“My brother who was studying in AMC, Dibrugarh was staying all alone there, with only mess food to survive on….since then he decided to try his hands on cooking. Same goes with me, I started living alone and was so fascinated with trying new dishes.”
He further added:
“My brother and I, are travel freak and we tried travelling all the possible places of northeast to taste the traditional cuisines of all the tribes. And hence there was no stopping for us. Our most awaited dream came into existence as BHOTUWA FOODS.”
They also have their own travel company, named “Feel Northeast Eco Tourism,” where they provide northeast’s travel package, car rent, and self-drive car. Also, they provide campsite for NH7 weekender, Zero Music Festival, Hornbill Festival, Dambuk, Kite festival, Tawang, Dwinjing Festival etc.
Bhotuwa Foods also has online delivery system in Zomato but currently it’s closed but 10-25% discount is available in Swiggy.
Thus, the owner said that they also provide homemade fermented bamboo-shoot, bamboo-shoot with king chilly pickle, laru – pitha, and other Assamese food via delivery.
