Guwahati News Desk: In response to his remarks about Hindutva and Hinduism, a copy of Bhagavad Gita was sent by the BJP’s Bihar unit to the Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday.
The Bihar unit of the BJP sent the copy to the MP, suggesting that it would “improve” his understanding of Hinduism and Hindutva.
Accusing the BJP and RSS of inciting hatred through Hindutva, the former Congress president recently courted controversy by saying that Hindutva is not Hinduism.
The Bihar BJP president, Sanjay Jaiswal, said, “Whenever there is an election in any state, Rahul Gandhi begins visiting temples, so we have decided to send him a copy of Bhagavad Gita, so that he can learn about Hindus and Hindutva.”
He added, “Recent comments by Congress leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, Salman Khurshid, and Rashid Alvi targeting the Hindu community were not an accident, but rather part of a well-planned strategy.”
Moreover, the Bihar BJP chief further added, “What Congress leaders have said over the last four days is a conspiracy, not a coincidence. Salman Khurshid equating RSS with terrorist groups like Boko Haram and ISIS, as well as Rashid Alvi’s comment that Jai Shri Ram was demon language, is part of a conspiracy.”
