Guwahati News Desk: Two scooter riders were killed after their two-wheeler was hit by a city bus atop the Boripara Bridge in Maligaon area here on Sunday.
The victims who were identified as Shibu Sinha and Govinda Pradhan, were on their way from Bharalu to Adabari when the incident occurred.
Police seized the bus (AS-01-KC-5636) and detained its driver. After the mishap, tension flared up in the area with locals alleging that the police arrived at the incident spot several minutes late.
Sources said that both the deceased belonged to Darjeeling in West Bengal. Their bodies were sent to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.
