Guwahati News Desk: Clearing all doubts Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma announced as the new Chief Minister of Assam after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led alliance wins the Assam Election polls on May 2.
BJP has formed the government for the second consecutive time in Assam.
The Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma wins from the Jalukbari constituency. The Assam Assembly Election 2021 took place in three phases on March 27, April 1 and 6.
Earlier today Sarbananda Sonowal resigns as the Chief Minister of Assam on Sunday.
Sonowal met the governor of Assam Prof. Jagdish Mukhi to submit his resignation.
