Guwahati News Desk: England registered their fourth consecutive victory in the ongoing T20 World Cup after defeating Sri Lanka by a total of 26 runs.

The match took place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Chasing the target of 164 runs, Sri Lanka were all out for 137 in 19 overs.

Infact, the team was reduced to 76/5 in the 11th over of the match itself.

In addition, Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva was the most successful bowler with figures of 3/21.

In Monday’s match, Adil Rashid was the best bowler for England as he returned with the figures of 2/19 in four overs.

Moreover, while batting first, Jos Buttler top-scored for England and also became the first batsman to reach the three-figure mark in this year’s tournament.

The players of team England included of Jason Roy, Jos Buttler(w), Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Eoin Morgan(c), Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid and Tymal Mills.

The players of team Sri Lanka included of Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Perera(w), Charith Asalanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Avishka Fernando, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dasun Shanaka(c), Chamika Karunaratne, Dushmantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana and Lahiru Kumara.

Eventually, the final score of the match between England and Sri Lanka mounted up to England ‘s being 163/4 (20.0) and Sri Lanka’s being 137/10 (19.0).

Furthermore, it was Jos Buttler who was titled as the “Player of the Match”.
