England gains victory over Bangladesh, Namibia defeats Scotland by 4 wickets: T20 World Cup

Guwahati News Desk: In Wednesday’s Group 1 Super 12 match of the ongoing T20 World Cup, England beat Bangladesh by a total of eight wickets.

The match took place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Bowling first, England started brilliantly as Moeen Ali removed openers Liton Das and Naim Sheikh while Chris Woakes got the crucial wicket of Shakib Al Hasan.

Hence, chasing the target of 125 for a win, England reached the target with 5.5 overs to spare with Jason Roy top-scoring with a 38-ball 61.

In addition, Dawid Malan batted cautiously to guide England to a well-deserved eight-wicket win.

On the other hand, after winning the toss and deciding to bat first against England, Bangladesh’s batters struggled to get going with Mushfiqur Rahim top-scoring with 29 while captain Mahmudullah contributed only 19.

Moreover, for England Tymal Mills was the pick of bowlers with 3/27, while Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone grabbed two wickets apiece.

Furthermore, the player of the match title was won by Jason Roy.

The players of team England included of Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid and Tymal Mills.

The players of team Bangladesh included of Litton Das, Mohammad Naim, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Mahedi Hasan, Shoriful Islam, Nasum Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman.

Eventually, the final score of the match between England and Bangladesh mounted up to England’s being 126/2 (14.1) and Bangladesh’s being 124/9 (20).

Regarding, the match between Namibia vs Scotland, team Namibia defeated Scotland
by four wickets on Wednesday.

Chasing the target of 110 runs, Namibia reached 115 for six in 19.2 overs with JJ Smit smashing an unbeaten knock of 32 off 23 balls.

Meanwhile, opener Craig Williams also contributed with a 23-run knock off 29 deliveries.

In addition, Namibia pacer Ruben Trumpelmann was in fiery form and destroyed Scotland’s top order in the first over itself, taking the wickets of George Munsey, Calum MacLeod and Richie Berrington.

In case of Scotland, Michael Leask was in decent form, taking two wickets in two overs, and he made the only noteworthy contribution with a knock of 44 in 27 deliveries.

Moreover, David Wiese and Smit registered a dismissal each.

Furthermore, the player of the match title was won by Ruben Trumpelmann.

The players of team Namibia included of Craig Williams, Zane Green(w), Gerhard Erasmus(c), David Wiese, Michael van Lingen, JJ Smit, Jan Frylinck, Pikky Ya France, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Ruben Trumpelmann and Bernard Scholtz.

The players of team Scotland included of George Munsey, Matthew Cross(w), Calum MacLeod, Richie Berrington(c), Craig Wallace, Michael Leask, Chris Greaves, Mark Watt, Josh Davey, Safyaan Sharif and Bradley Wheal.

Eventually, the final score of the match between Namibia and Scotland mounted up to Namibia’s being 115/6 (19.1) and Scotland’s being 109/8 (20).
