Guwahati News Desk: A huge chache of explosive has been recovered by Gorchuk Police in Guwahati City on Thursday night.
The massive operation was launched under the leadership of Officer-in-charge of Gorchuk Police Station Prasenjit Das.
Two persons were arrested linked with the explosive as a patroling party of Gorchuk Police Station seized a commercial vehicle Mahindra Bolero bearing registration number AS 15 AC 4867 while travelling at high speed from Lakhra Chariali towards Boragaon.
The Gorchuk Police chased the vehicle and finally managed to stop and seized it and recovered the explosive.
Around 13 bags of of explosive substance and devices without any documents as 4,660 pcs of gelatin sticks and 2,300 pcs of electric detonators were recovered during the operation.
The accused have been identified as Ainal Ali (27-year-old) and Rahim Badsha (26-year-old) of Bongaigaon.
According to the sources, the apprehended persons were supposedly travelling from Meghalaya and headed towards Rani in Guwahati.
The investigation team has started their search operation to go depth into the matter has begun and is under progress.
