Guwahati News Desk: The bodies of five more armed forces personnel who were killed in the recent heartwrenching IAF chopper crash near Coonoor, have been identified.

As informed by the military officials on Saturday, the bodies are being transported to their respective home towns by air for conducting the last rites with appropriate military honour.

In addition, the bodies identified in the last few hours are of Junior Warrant Officer (JWO) Pradeep, Wing Commander PS Chauhan, JWO Rana Pratap Das, Lance Naik B Sai Teja and Lance Naik Vivek Kumar.

According to sources, the identification of the bodies was carried out by the Army and the Air Force, keeping in mind the sensitivities and emotional well-being of the family members.

Moreover, a day after the crash, the mortal remains of all the 13 people killed in the crash were brought to Delhi from Sulur in Tamil Nadu on Thursday evening and in the current phase, sincere efforts are being given to “positively identify” the remaining mortal remains.

Meanwhile, the unidentified bodies have been kept in the mortuary of the Army Base Hospital in Delhi Cantonment.

Furthermore, on Friday evening, Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and his defence adviser Brigadier LS Lidder were cremated with full military honours at the Brar Square Crematorium in Delhi.
