Guwahati News Desk: At least five security personnel of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) were killed and several injured in a massive IED blast at Narayanpur district in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.
According to the sources, after the blast, the rescue team immediately rushes on the spot to control the situation. The injured personnel were admitted to the nearest hospital.
After investigating the area, Police officials said it was a Maoist strike targeting the bus carrying more than 20 security personnel. The blast occurred at around 4.15 pm on the Kanhargaon-Kadenar road.
Three IEDs were planted by Maoists under the culvert as the blast gouged a hole in the ground and later the bus falls under the bridge.
The bus was 3km away from Kadenar police camp.
The security personnel were travelling as a part of an anti-Naxal operation in the dense Abujhmad forests.
