Guwahati News Desk: As curfew has been imposed in Guwahati by the Government of Assam amid the rising COVID-19 cases, but the food delivery app like Swiggy and Zomato are helping in boosting restaurant business across the city.
In the new SOP announced by the administration, the dinning was allowed till 11 am and online delivery was allowed till 12 pm as a part of essential.
In between the working hours, the food delivery app helped out the restaurants and delivery executives to earn during the hard days between the pandemics.
According to the sources, around 400 delivery executives are operating in the Dispur, Beltola, Sixmile, etc area and more than thousands are operating across the city combining both Swiggy and Zomato.
In conversation with the owner of Bhotuwa Foods, Sintu Deka, “The food delivery app Zomato and Swiggy helping out to boost our business during the pandemic and also helped out the delivery executives to run their livelihood properly. Through this we are buying vegetables, meats, fish, etc from vendors for cooking as it too helps the small vendors to earn in the pandemic.”
According to the sources, the curfew has not affected the food delivery businesses as many people in the city depends on online food basically those under home isolation.
