Guwahati News Desk: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has conducted eviction drive against the illegal encroaching in the footpaths of Guwahati City on Thursday.
The illegal eviction drive was conducted from Bharalumukh via Lokhra to Khanapara as encroachers using footpaths, pavements and roadside area to sell products which leads a massive traffic and blockage of footpaths.
The eviction drive was jointly conducted by a team of Encroachment Branch led by Additional Commissioner and Joint Commissioner of GMC.
Before the eviction drive it was noted a large number of people are running their business alongside the roads, footpaths and pavements which led traffic and congestion in the days from the recent weeks.
Many vehicles were seen stopping their vehicles near the footpath to buy products from the footpaths which led massive traffic in the city.
Meanwhile, Guwahati Municipal Corporation is planing to to carry out similar evictions in the coming days.
