Guwahati News Desk: PWD Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday visited the launch of Cassion Foundation No. PY-2 of 7th bridge over Brahmaputra river in Guwahati.
The bridge covering a distance of 8.3 km over the Brahmaputra river will connect Guwahati city with North Guwahati.
The Public Works Department (PWD) have already started the construction worth Rs 2600 crore.
The bridge is expected to be completed by 2023.
The bridge will reduce the distance as it will connect the NH37 in 10 minutes instead of 45-60 minutes via Jalukbari.
Dr Sarma in on the occasion said that, the bridge will boost the economic growth of the state.
