Guwahati News Desk: After a gap of 14 years, the Indian Air Force (IAF) organised an awe-inspiring air show in Srinagar.
The show was held on Sunday, over the famous Dal Lake at the lawns of the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre.
The programme mesmerized the locals in Srinagar with the jets performing aerial acrobatics and maneuvering in the skies. In addition, it was also enjoyed by hundreds of students from the different schools in the valley, where they enjoyed the IAF jets skillfully navigating and synchronizing while hovering over the beautiful Dal Lake.
The show was named as ‘Give Wings to Your Dream’ and was inaugurated by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha. In addition, it was organised as a part of the ongoing celebrations commemorating ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
Moreover, the show witnessed a display by the IAF’s Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team, Paramotor and powered hang-glider display, fly-past by MiG-21 Bison, aerobatics by Su-30 Aircraft. It also included Akashganga skydiving display, IAF symphony orchestra display and a photo exhibition depicting the history of IAF.
The Mayor of Srinagar, Junaid Azim Mattu said, “I witnessed a spectacular air show by the IAF showcasing the capabilities and skills of the Indian Air Force, the audience was treated to sheer excellence.”
Meanwhile, the routes heading towards the boulevard in Srinagar were closed to traffic for the past two days.
