Guwahati News Desk: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange colour alert in Assam on March 30 and 31.
A forecast of rains and thunderstorm was reported in Assam along with other northeastern states Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
The influence of strong lower level southwesterly winds impacted from the Bay of Bengal has predicted the chance of widespread rain with thunderstorm and lighting.
The orange alert to hit at isolated places are very likely over NE India from March 29 to April 2.
The heavy rainfall is likely to hit South Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram which may cause a heavy landslide, waterlogging inroads may cause to increase the travelling time.
