Guwahati News Desk: The Bharat Bandh had a clear impact on the general life in Guwahati today.
The bandh has been in effect from this morning and was called by farmer’s association against the government of India protesting the three farm laws passed by the centre.
The nationwide strike was called from 11 am to 3 pm. Whereas, All India Kishan Sabha (AIKS) has appealed 12-hour strike in Assam from morning 5 am to an evening at 5 pm on Tuesday.
The streets of the busiest hub of Northeast India was seen empty. All commercial vehicles are exempted from operating accept few cabs.
The shutters of shops and showrooms were seen closed in GS Road, RGB Road, Jalukbari, VIP Road etc.
Only private vehicles were seen commuting in the city creating many difficulties among people.
