India beats Australia by 9 wickets in warm-up match: T20 World Cup

Guwahati News Desk: In their second warm-up match of the T20 World Cup 2021 held in Dubai on Wednesday, India succeeded to beat Australia by a total of 9 wickets.

The Australia vs India warm-up match in T20 World Cup 2021 took place at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai.

Chasing the target of 153 runs, openers KL Rahul (39) and Rohit Sharma (60) gave a flying start to India with their 68-run opening stand.

Stand-in skipper Rohit completed his half-century in 36 balls after Rahul got out on a brilliant turning ball from Aston Agar.

However, India’s last hero in the last match, Ishan Kishan didn’t get an opportunity to bat in this game but he was seen keeping the wickets instead of Rishabh Pant.

Moreover, India’s designated captain Virat Kohli was seen bowling a few overs.

In a fitting end to a dominant performance by India, Hardik Pandya smashed the ball straight for a six off Kane Richardson to take his side home by eight wickets with thirteen balls to spare.

The players in the Indian team included of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy.

The players in the Australian team included of David Warner, Aaron Finch, Mitchell Marsh, Steven Smith, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, Ashton Agar, Mitchell Starc, Josh Inglis, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins.

Regarding Wednesday’s Namibia vs Netherlands’ first round Group A game of the T20 World Cup, Namibia won against
The Netherlands by a six-wicket win.

David Wiese’s maiden international half-century changed the pace of the game in a matter of minutes as runs flew thick and fast after he took charge at the crease and in the process added 93 runs with skipper Gerhard Erasmus (32) for the fourth wicket.

Meanwhile, regarding the ongoing match between Sri Lanka and Ireland, it is currently taking place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

In the ongoing match, Sri Lanka’s score is 171/7 (20), while Ireland is yet to bat.
