Guwahati News Desk: Hossein Qasemi, director-general of border affairs of the Iranian Interior Ministry Wednesday announced that the Iran-Iraq border points will remain closed for passengers until April 4.
National Headquarters for Fighting Coronavirus following the request of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education made the decision, Qasemi quoted.
“However, if there are Iranian nationals in Iraq who want to come back to Iran, or if Iraqi nationals in Iran want to go back to their country, they can cross the border,” he added.
Iran closed several crossing points with Iraq on Feb. 20 to stop the spread of a new variant of COVID-19.
