Guwahati News Desk: Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma inspected the new site for the Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner office which will be shifted to Rupnagar from Kachari in Guwahati on Wednesday.
According to the sources, the 5-storey building will be constructed at Rupnagar where the new DC office will be shifted. The government of Assam also allotted 10 bighas of land to construct 10 new DC offices across the State as the construction will be completed in the next 3 years.
The new Kamrup Metro DC office will be constructed with adequate infrastructure and parking places as the total cost of the project will yet not be announced at the current time.
According to the sources, the old DC office will be demolished as the entire place will be upgraded as the beautification project of river Brahmaputra. Moreover, the office of the Commissioner of the Police will be shifted to Khanapara.
Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Inspected the proposed sites of the offices of the Commissioner of Police, Guwahati City & Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (Metro) at Khanapara and Rupnagar respectively. Directed concerned dept to ensure timely completion of projects.”
