Guwahati News Desk: The Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KPNTR) to open for tourists from October 1.
The national parks in Assam were shut down with immediate effect for several months due to the second wave of COVID-19 in the State.
According to the sources, jeep safaris will be open at Kohora Central and Bagori Western for the tourist as the national park administration to follow all the COVID-19 protocol. Tourists can access only two ranges in KNPTR as the opening of other ranges is yet not confirmed by the Kaziranga officials.
Meanwhile, the Manas National Park is also to reopen from October 1 and the Orang National Park has reopened today for the tourist, and only a section of safari ride was opened inside the park.
Last year, local tourists across the State have been reported the most to visit the Kaziranga National Park as tourists from outside the State was banned due to COVID pandemic.
Last year, maximum five people were allowed to surf in a jeep safari under COVID protocol.
