Pallabi D. Borah, Guwahati: Spanish Omelette or Spanish Tortilla is a traditional dish from Spain and one of the signature dishes in the Spanish cuisine.
Let’s learn the easiest way of how to make the tasty and delicious Spanish Omelette:
- Eggs – 4
- Oil – 2 tsp
- Cabbage (chopped) – ½ cup
- Onion (chopped) – 1
- Carrot (grated) – 1
- Tomato (chopped) – 1 (medium size)
- Green chillies (chopped) – 1 or 2
- Salt – to taste
- Spices (cumin, coriander, and red chilly powder) – little bit
Break the eggs into a bowl and whisk it properly. Add all the above-mentioned vegetables, salt and spices. Whisk them well with a whisker or a fork. Now, heat the oil in a frying pan for 2 minutes, then pour the mixture into the pan and lower the flame. Cover it with a lid. Let it cook (omelette) for a while as it is thick. After that, transfer the omelette from the pan to a dish and again, to cook the opposite side of the omelette, upside down it into the pan just like the pizza. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes and your Spanish omelette (tortilla) is ready! You can garnish it with ketchup and coriander leaves.
