Guwahati News Desk: Around forty doctors including Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen (retd) Vipin Puri of Lucknow’s King George’s Medical University (KGMU) have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Since last August, this is the second time the VC Puri has been infected by the virus, however, he has taken the second dose on March 25.
The doctors have tested positive despite taking both doses of the vaccine. The infected doctors include 20 from the general surgery department, 9 from the urology department and 3 from the department of medicine.
Lucknow reported 1,188 new Covid cases in the past 24 hours and 4,560 coronavirus patients under home isolation.
