Guwahati News Desk: Massive quake hits Turkey’s third largest city, Izmir triggering a small tsunami in Seferihisar and on Samos on Friday afternoon.
The earthquake measured 6.6 magnitude and hit at a depth of 16 kilometres killing at least 27 and injuring 800 others.
Early on Saturday, rescue teams plowed through concrete blocks and the debris of 8 collapsed buildings in search of survivors.
Some 5000 rescue personnel are working on the ground and around 100 people have been rescued since the earthquake, said Murat Kurum, the environment and urban planning minister.
