Guwahati News Desk: A 31-year-old man was arrested in Delhi’s Burari area for allegedly killing the wife of his former employer on Tuesday.
According to sources, the accused named Rakesh, was a driver, who allegedly strangled a woman named Pinki to death in West Sant Nagar in Burari on Monday.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (north), Sagar Singh Kalsi, informed that the body of the victim was recovered from her home.
Moreover, after being arrested, Rakesh confessed to the crime. In addition, the accused told the police that he also gave electric shocks to the victim after strangling her to death.
Regarding the cause behind the murder,
Pinki had asked her husband, an assistant professor in Delhi University, to remove Rakesh from his job as a driver.
During interrogation, Rakesh informed the police about the entire narrative, saying that, he had met his former employer, Virender Kumar, three years ago. After which, Kumar gave his taxi to Rakesh and a room to his family on the top floor of his house.
Rakesh added that he was not getting a salary every month and so, he had asked Kumar to give him the whole amount whenever he needed.
However, Kumar along with his wife refused to pay him his full salary, which was around Rs. 3 lakh.
Hence, on Monday when Rakesh found out that Kumar was in the hospital with his mother and Pinky was all alone by herself at home, he entered her house under the influence of alcohol, strangled her to death.
Meanwhile, the police have informed that a probe into the matter is underway and regarding the matter of electrocution, it will be confirmed only after the postmortem results arrive.
