Guwahati News Desk: A 24-year-old man was beaten with a metal chair, along with being kicked, punched, pinned to the ground and eventually being stabbed to death by a group of three men on Wednesday evening.

The horrific incident took place in a lane of east Delhi’s Seemapuri.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Shahdara, R. Sathiyasundaram said the police control room (PCR) was informed about the incident at 5 p.m.

However, by the time the first police team responded to the call, the victim had already been shifted to a hospital.

Although, the victim was taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital by the local residents, but he could not survive and eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, the victim has been identified to be a man named Shahrukh.

The DCP further informed that the police team gathered footage from the CCTVs installed in the vicinity and identified the accused to be 30-year-old Zuber, 20-year-old Zafar and 18-year-old Aditya, who were residents of Seemapuri.

The DCP said, “Teams were formed, multiple raids were conducted and two suspects, Aditya and Zuber were arrested on Thursday. The third accused, Zafar, is absconding.”

According to sources, the murder case was a result of personal enmity, since Shahrukh was allegedly having an affair with the Zuber’s sister. The source added that the woman was married, and Zuber had earlier warned Shahrukh to keep away from his sister. When the latter did not relent, the accused planned to kill him.

Meanwhile, a case under sections 302 (punishment for murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC, and sections of the Arms Act have been registered at the Seemapuri police station.
