Guwahati News Desk: Locals and journalists of Mirza staged massive protest on Wednesday demanding justice to the local scribe Milan Mahanta. The protesters demanded strict law to curb crimes against journalists in the state.
Mahanta on Sunday was assaulted in broad daylight for reporting on illegal gambling.
The protest held under the aegis of EP Media Forum, South Kamrup, and South Kamrup Students Union and was participate by Associate Editor of Asomiya Pratidin Prakash Mahanta, Secretary of Assam Teachers’ Association Ratul Goswami, Litterateur Moina Goswami, journalists of Chaygaon and Boko Press Club, Maligaon Press Club, North Guwahati Press Club.
