Guwahati News Desk: The State Secondary Education has announced that all the schools will remain closed even after summer vacation due to COVID-19 cases in Assam.
The education department urges all educational institutions to conduct online classes for the students.
The department has issued a notification for the directors of secondary and elementary education, all inspectors of schools, other officials of the department including private educational institutions to take necessary steps to conduct online classes until further orders issued regarding the reopening of schools.
Earlier, the summer vacation in Assam was given from May to June 14 looking at the rising cases in the State.
The vacation started a month in advance as it was usually given from July 1 to 31 of every year.
