Guwahati News Desk: Making a remarkable comeback, New Zealand defeated England by 5 wickets to reach their maiden T20 World Cup final.

The match took place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

In Wednesday’s match England set New Zealand a target of 167 in 20 overs.

Chasing a target of 167, New Zealand got off to the worst start possible. England’s Pacer Chris Woakes jolted New Zealand by dismissing both Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson inside the first three overs.

However, it was Daryl Mitchell and Devon Conway, who steadied New Zealand’s ship, adding 82 runs for the third wicket.

For New Zealand, Tim Southee (1/24), Adam Milne (1/31), Ish Sodhi (1/32) and James Neesham (1/18) were the wicket-takers.

On the other hand, after being put in to bat, England started off well as Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler hit a few early boundaries.

In addition, Chris Woakes (2/36) and Liam Livingstone (2/22) were the most successful bowlers for England.

The players of team New Zealand included of Martin Guptill, Daryl Mitchell, Kane Williamson(c), Devon Conway(w), Glenn Phillips, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi and Trent Boult.

The players of team England included of Jos Buttler(w), Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Moeen Ali, Eoin Morgan(c), Sam Billings, Liam Livingstone, Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid and Mark Wood.

Eventually, the final score of the match between New Zealand and England mounted up to New Zealand’s being 167/5 (19.0) and England’s being 166/4 (20.0) .

Furthermore, it was Daryl Joseph Mitchell who was titled as the “Player of the Match”.
