Guwahati News Desk: The Governor of Assam and the President of Indian Red Cross Society of Assam State Branch Jagdish Mukhi handed over seven oxygen generators to the Red Cross Hospitals in Guwahati on Monday.
The Oxygen generators handed over in a function held at Raj Bhavan. Out of seven, three of the generators were handed over to the IRCS of Guwahati District Branch for the Red Cross Hospital in Chandmari.
While two oxygen generators each were handed over to the IRCS of Silchar and Karimganj District Branches for use in Red Cross Hospitals in Silchar and Karimganj respectively.
Acting Chairman of IRCS of Assam State Branch Biren Sonowal and General Secretary of IRCS and MLA of Silchar Dipayan Chakraborty along with other district and state branch officials also graced the occasion.
The oxygen generators are provided by the Indian Red Cross Society, National Head Quarters of New Delhi in association with the Canadian Red Cross and one such oxygen generators will cover around 40 beds.
The oxygen generators have been flown in from Canada via direct flight to Guwahati.
