Guwahati News Desk: The Assam Personnel Department carried out a massive bureaucratic reshuffle on Wednesday, November 3rd, as instructed by the Governor of Assam for the development of public service. According to a recent notification, the transfer of numerous high officials, secretaries, deputy commissioners, and roughly 26 top bureaucrats from Assam is part of the official interchange.
One of the key changes is that Biswajit Pegu, the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro, has been transferred and posted to the position of Deputy Commissioner; Dibrugarh, in turn, has transferred and posted the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup.
WHO IS PALLAV GOPAL JHA?
Pallav Gopal Jha was born on July 14, 1985, and majored in Chemistry in his Bachelor of Science degree. Jha was an officer from Jharkhand, India, who graduated in 2012. He formerly served as the DC of Sivasagar, Assam, and then as the DC of Dibrugarh, succeeding Laya Madduri, IAS, and is now the DC of Kamrup. Jha had made significant headway in beginning development projects under the Oil India Limited CSR program during his time in Dibrugarh. He is also one of the IAS officers from the Northeast who was nominated in the “accountability” category for the “Fame India List of 50 top-performing district magistrates of India 2020.”
OTHER MAJOR CHANGES IN BUREAUCRATIC RESHUFFLE:
- Deba Kumar Mishra, PPS to the chief minister and MD, Assam Tourism Development Corporation is transferred and posted as DC, Biswanath.
- Dibakar Nath, ADC, I/C Bijni is transferred and posted as DC, Karbi Anglong.
- Hivare Nisarg Gautam, DC, South Salmara is transferred and posted as DC, Nagaon.
- Mridul Yadav, Deputy Secretary of PHE Department and Joint Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission is transferred and posted as DC of Karimganj.
- Joint secretary of the Welfare of plain tribes and backward classes Department, Krishna Baruah, is transferred and posted as DC of West Karbi Anglong.
- Pallavi Sarkar, ADC, Hailakandi is transferred and posted as DC, South Salmara.
The reshuffle added Dima Hasao DC, Paul Baruah transferred and posted to Charaideo New DC, and DC Paranab Kumar Sarmah, Biswanath transferred and posted as new DC of Darrang district. In case of the change in the Finance department, Nazreen Ahmed, Director, Financial Inspection and Additional Secretary has been transferred and posted as DC of Dima Hasao.
