Guwahati News Desk : The tunnel is built with ultra-modern specifications in the Pir Panjal range of Himalayas at an altitude of 10,000 feet above sea level.
The tunnel will reduce the road distance by 46 kms between Manali and Leh by about 4 to 5 hours. It has been designed such a way that it can carry traffic density of 3000 cars and 1500 trucks per day with max speed of 80 km/hr. The tunnel will turn out to be one of the best experience for the riders who love to ride to the Himalayas to enjoy its natural beauty.
Tunnel is made with safety features & emergency communications in every 150 meters and CCTV enabled in every 250 meters.
Air quality monitoring is also installed in every 1 km including fire rated dampers at every 50 meters.
