Guwahati News Desk: Massive protest took place in several places of Guwahati City on Wednesday, demanding for immediate release of Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami.
Arnab Goswami was arrested by Mumbai Police from his residence today in alleged connection with the death of interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik in Alibaug in the year 2018.
Meanwhile, the Journalists Association of Assam Journalists Association of Assam (JAA) condemned the undemocratic behaviour of the Maharastra government and demanded the release of Arnab. Protesting the incident, the association also has decided to launch agitation.
According to the reports Goswami was dragged to the police van and assaulted by officials during the arrest.
Goswami reportedly said that Mumbai Police have assaulted his son and wife including his in-laws too.
The arrested of Goswami is trending in the social media today.
