Guwahati News Desk: The government of Assam has planning to reopen schools from classes IX to XII from September 1 announced by State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on Friday.
The government will reopen the school if the COVID-19 situation improves across the State.
During the announcement, Education Minister Pegu said the COVID-19 situation was not improved in Assam as expected as he held a discussion with Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and Health Minister Keshab Mahanta.
The education minister also commented that most of the parents and teachers are found satisfied with the results of the HSLC exam which was declared early today.
According to the sources, it was also said that specific SOP’s to be released for the resumption of classes in colleges for final year students.

COVID-19 active cases reach 12,485 on Friday as the positivity rate reaches 1.05 per cent.
Assam’s recovery rate reaches 96.63 per cent.
