Guwahati News Desk: The Meghalaya government has implemented Section 144 in the capital city Shillong on Sunday to check the COVID-19 spread due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 across the northeastern states.

All the markets, vendors and business shops to remain close on Sunday.

The East Khasi Hills district magistrate Isawanda Laloo issued a notification for the prohibition of roadside vendors to operate in the city during Sundays.
